摘要 | This article sets out to investigate chief policy developments and trends at the macro level perspective of world social policy. First, this article introduces the state of the art of the ideal-typical approach in welfare state analysis, and then it goes on to look particularly at welfare state reform in the field of old-age and health care security in five highly-aged or fast-aging societies, namely, Sweden, Germany, Italy, South Korea, and Taiwan. At last, the article concludes that individual national responses, when seen from a macro, global policy perspective, share certain features - that is, the shift from benefit-defined to contribution-defined formula and systems in social security - while they also employ different tactics with regard to parametric and systematic welfare state reform at the same time. © 2008, Hallym Aging Research Institute, Hallym University. |
