摘要 | In this paper, we use an energy minimization method to predict the liver tissue deformation for several finite element models. For these models, the strain energy expressions may be different depending on the mechanical behavior of the material they are describing. The predicted liver tissue deformations are verified using the higher resolution cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) DICOM image data sets. These data sets of the undeformed liver tissue and the deformed one for different force loads are acquired from the actual indention experiments. Using the CBCT image data sets, the tissue deformation details in the contact region between the tissue and the indentor (or probe) can be detected and rendered for small force loads. Ex vivo lamb liver is chosen to validate liver tissue deformation predictions using energy minimization method for the linear elastic model, the linear viscoelastic model, and the neo-Hooke hyperelastic model. |
