This presentation will discuss the teaching of Cultural Studies (CS) within hte remit of Humanities internationally. It begins with a brief overview of CS in international institutions and then investigates the lack of theoretical underpinnings for such CS internationally. While there are a few reports regarding teaching CS abroad, not many countries are covered and much information is anecdotal and undertheorized. But important questions remain: How do CS change when introduced to an indigenous academic environment? Are CS really conceived for a non-Western application? And, if yes, how do CS change themselves when extrapolated from a Western environment? The presentation then goes on to give three examples from teaching CS in Greece, in India and Macedonia and then draws theoretical conclusions about teaching CS on an international level, taking suggestions from feminism as a possible model.
