Abstract

This paper presents a study on dynamic properties of mass transfer in dehumidifier of a Liquid Desiccant Dehumidification Systems (LDDS) through modeling, simulation analysis and experiment validation. As a vital component of air-conditioning system, LDDS can remove the moisture in process air. Based on the mass conservation principles, a dynamic model is developed to predict the humidity of the outlet process air in unsteady state. Experiments are carried out to validate this model by manipulating the liquid desiccant mass flow rate and input cooling amount to confirm the model accuracy. This model provides a comprehensive understanding on the dynamic mass transfer of the dehumidification process and can be beneficial to propose a preliminary control strategy for the dehumidification process. © 2016 IEEE.
