摘要

Since the end of the cold war in the 1990s, globalization has rapidly swept the world, with one result being the development of global supply chains. Globalization of supply chains is mainly affected by two factors. One is tradability—the rapid increase in the number of goods and services due to dramatic reduction in the cost of transportation and the opening up of service sectors around the world. The continued decline in costs attendant on this opening up has prompted many companies to switch to global sourcing models, enabling them to take advantage of lower labor, material, land and other expenses. The other factor is the increasing application of subcontracting.
