Details of Research Outputs

Since the term “cyberbullying” was first coined and introduced in the scientific literature at beginning of the twenty-first century, the number of published studies on the subject has increased exponentially across the last two decades. This chapter provides a comprehensive review and synthesis of the social scientific research on cyberbullying. The review includes research published by scholars from multiple disciplines and details about their research methods. Next, the chapter provides a brief inventory of intervention programs with a critique of their effectiveness via a discussion of how the application of additional research findings could improve such programs are also provided. The chapter ends with suggestions for improved, additional research methods and intervention programs. In sum, the chapter provides theoretical and systematic discussions for the researchers who plan to study cyberbullying from either a specific or comprehensive perspective.
