Dr. Erin Amann HOLLIDAY-KARRE is an Assistant Professor of English Language and Literature at Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University, United International College. She holds a PhD in English from Loyola University Chicago, an MA in English from Hunter College, CUNY, and a BA in Psychology from the University of Tennessee.

Dr. HOLLIDAY-KARRE specializes in feminist theory, modernist and postmodernist literature, and postcolonial studies. Her research examines how literature reimagines women’s voices across diverse cultural contexts, with a focus on challenging dominant narratives about gender and power. Her forthcoming article, Feminist Voices of Dissent: Counternarratives of Pacifism from the Arab Spring, will be published in Angelaki: Journal of Theoretical Humanities in 2025. She has two more articles currently under review: Feminism and Nationalism in the Middle East: Disrupting Dominant Narratives Before and After the Arab Spring and Models of Change: Redefining Feminism in the Postmodern Era.

Her teaching experience is extensive, having held faculty positions at Lane College, Coastal Carolina University, and Qatar University. At Lane College, she served as Chair of the Department of English. Her courses cover topics such as World Literature, Cross-Cultural Studies, and Women in Literature.

Dr. HOLLIDAY-KARRE has also published on a variety of topics, including feminist modernism, the role of narrative in feminist theory, and postcolonial literature. Some of her works appear in journals such as Journal of Narrative Theory, Feminist Theory, and Feminist Modernist Studies. Her research is committed to bridging literature and feminist activism, fostering critical engagement with texts that span global perspectives.
