Prof. Llewellyn TANG earned his Bachelor of Construction Engineering and Management (1st Class Hons) in 2002 and PhD in 2005 at City University of Hong Kong. 

His research and teaching interests lie in BIM, CDE, ISO 19650, Information Management, Energy Management, Smart City, Blockchain, and A.I./ML.

Prof. TANG joined UIC from the University of Hong Kong where he was an Associate Professor in Building Information Modelling (BIM), Faculty of Architecture, between 2018 and 2024. As an outstanding BIM expert, Prof. TANG also possesses extensive networks within the business communities. He has founded Llewellyn & Partners Co. Ltd. (LPC) which is the first BIM HKU spinoff tech company and an Incubatee of Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks. With LPC, he commercialized technological portfolios with more than 100 companies, which equipped him with strong experience in startup management.
